Normandy is most famous for its place in history during WWII as the Allied forces used these beaches to liberate Eastern Europe from the Germans. The beaches were easily accessible and the plan for landing extended 40 to 80 Kilometers. The landing areas were code named Sword, June, Gold, Omaha, and Utah. The America sector was Omaha and Utah. History knows of this day as the D-Day invasions that took place on 6 of June 1944.

Overview:
The official name of Holland is the Netherlands with Holland being only a province. The country’s name means “low lands” because most of the region’s land lies below sea level. The windmills were originally used to pump excess water from the flooding areas. Holland is also home to the Keukenhof Gardens, the Van Gogh museum, and Delft Pottery.

Rota's beaches or better know as Playa's are beautiful and provides one of the most relaxing environments. Located in the center of town is a church that houses the tomb of one of the Skippers that sailed with Christopher Columbus on his voyages to the New World. |
